At S&C Electric Canada Ltd., we are seeking an Electrical Design Professional to join our team in the role of CAD Designer (Co-Op). About the Role

This co-op position is reporting to the Manager - Facilities and involves reviewing and updating the electrical designs of our manufacturing facility using AutoCAD. You will ensure all drawings meet S&C's design standards, maintain backups of CAD designs, and perform data entry tasks. Additionally, you will assist the Project Coordinator in managing capital budget projects and participate in quality improvement initiatives for S&C's drawing process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and update plant layout documents/drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Maintain accuracy and adherence to S&C's design standards.
  • Ensure backup of all CAD designs.
  • Perform data entry tasks to set up and maintain parts storage in our facilities software system.
  • Assist the Project Coordinator in managing capital budget projects.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives for S&C's drawing process.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A registration in an industrial, electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering co-op program.
  • Eligibility for an 8-month Co-op Term.
  • Completed coursework and experience using AutoCAD.
  • A positive, flexible team-oriented approach, with the willingness and desire to work as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Self-motivation, with the ability to take initiative.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and resourceful.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications.
