Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in driving our continued growth and success. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, a mechanical engineering background, and a proven track record in managing project engineering activities and leading multi-discipline teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership and Support
    • Assist the Project Manager by providing technical support and leadership to manage project engineering activities, ensuring that project KPIs, safety, budgets, scope, schedules, and deliverables are met.
    • Manage and supervise the project engineering team, being accountable for overall performance, morale, and culture.
    • Lead a multi-discipline engineering team with support from Discipline Managers.
  • Project Management
    • Plan, organize, direct, schedule, assign, monitor, and coordinate all engineering activities, work, resources, and tools to meet project and business objectives, in alignment with VTEK Engineering Discipline Managers.
    • Work with the Project Manager and Construction Manager to establish work sequences and deliverables for each engineering discipline at each project phase.
    • Ensure engineering supports all project and construction needs efficiently and effectively.
  • Safety and Quality Assurance
    • Ensure that all safety and quality requirements and objectives of the project are met.
    • Review and approve project-specific technical data from suppliers and contractors.
    • Ensure that engineering work packages are complete, integrated, and thorough to meet objectives and quality requirements.
  • Client and Stakeholder Engagement
    • Engage with the client on all technical matters.
    • Review work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver integrated engineering work packages.
  • Policy and Procedure Implementation
    • Implement policies, standards, and procedures for the Project Engineering & Design Team that align with VTEK's strategic direction and project objectives.
    • Assist in developing, issuing, assessing, and managing quotes, bids, and contracts.
    Requirements
    • Experience and Background
      • Extensive experience in the oil and gas industry with flare stack and vessel pressure experience.
      • Mechanical Engineering background with a valid Engineer Permit (APEGA).
      • Proven track record in managing project engineering activities and leading multi-discipline teams.
    • Skills and Qualifications
      • Strong technical and leadership skills with experience in project management.
      • Ability to plan, coordinate, and oversee engineering activities effectively.
      • Excellent communication skills for client and stakeholder engagement.
      • Familiarity with industry standards, safety, and quality requirements.
