About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team at Strathcona County. As a key member of our Facility Management Major Projects team, you will be responsible for leading and managing complex capital projects from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Provide strategic leadership and direction to project teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including project sponsors, team members, and external partners.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, ensuring the project is delivered with minimal risk to the County.
  • Contract Management: Manage contracts with external partners, including design consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure projects are delivered to the required quality standards, including compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
  • Communication: Develop and maintain effective communication plans, ensuring stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Architecture, or a related field from an accredited University or College.
  • Experience: 7 years of direct experience with facility construction and construction project management, or a Professional Licensee (Engineering) or a Professional Technologist with 9 years of experience.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Bluebeam Studio. Familiarity with construction software tools, including Building Information Modeling (BIM), project management software, and scheduling software.
  • Qualifications: Proven experience in managing building construction projects, providing the owner's leadership of the technical design, engineering consultants, and construction management services.
