Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operate a ready-mix truck in a safe and effective manner, navigating various terrains and environments.
  • Perform mechanical pre-checks on equipment prior to use to ensure optimal performance.
  • Complete required paperwork in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Adhere to all health and safety laws, policies, and regulations while operating equipment.
  • Perform other duties or tasks as assigned by management.
  • Deliver high-quality concrete to a diverse range of contractors and customers.
  • Maintain excellent customer relations and provide exceptional service.

Qualifications

  • Hold a valid Class 1 or 3 license with air endorsement in good standing.
  • Demonstrate a proven safety record while operating heavy equipment or trucks.
  • Exhibit strong communication and problem-solving skills when interacting with customers.
  • Ability to understand and follow company policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of local and provincial transportation regulations.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for minor preventative maintenance and pre-shift inspections.
  • History of being a team player and ability to work independently.
  • Compliance with all laws, company guidelines, and policies.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time, hourly position in a fast-paced environment that requires overtime shifts and weekend work. Hourly rates range from $28 to $38 per hour. The successful candidate will be expected to work independently and have the initiative to complete tasks without direct supervision.

Physical Requirements

  • Strong arm, leg, and back fitness.
  • Ability to withstand physical demands of operating equipment.
  • Capacity to sit for prolonged periods.
  • Good depth perception and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects regularly.
