About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate MHSU Pediatric Emergency Clinician to join our team at Fraser Health Authority. As a key member of our interprofessional care team, you will provide comprehensive mental health services to pediatric patients in the Emergency Department.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to identify client and family needs, and develop treatment plans in collaboration with the interprofessional care team.
  2. Provide crisis intervention, counseling, and case management services to pediatric patients and their families.
  3. Collaborate with Emergency Department staff, community mental health teams, and other service providers to ensure effective patient flow and discharge planning.
  4. Develop and maintain relationships with community agencies and local hospitals to enhance intra-agency cooperation and access to community resources.
  5. Participate in quality improvement activities, including identifying patient care issues, collecting data, and recommending corrective actions.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Master's degree in Social Work, Clinical Counselling, or a related health discipline.
  • At least two years of recent clinical experience in child and adolescent mental health, including assessment, individual, family, and group interventions.
  • Eligibility for registration with a relevant professional association.
  • Valid BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle with appropriate business insurance coverage.
