**Overview of the Role**

This is a unique opportunity to join Lafarge as a Heavy Machinery Technician at our Woodstock site. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a combination of tasks ranging from housekeeping activities to operating fixed and mobile equipment used in the production of aggregates.

**Salary Information**

We offer competitive wages with experience, with an estimated annual salary of $80,000 - $110,000 based on industry standards and location.

**Job Description**

As a Heavy Machinery Technician, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Completing cleanup assignments using a skid steer and/or hand-held tools;
  • Performing pre-operational checks and operating assigned mobile equipment as trained and directed;
  • Completing scheduled maintenance inspections and lubrication of plant equipment using the appropriate job plans, procedures, and manuals;
  • Assisting in repairing broken or malfunctioning equipment;
  • Assisting with plant repairs as needed;
  • Maintaining a safe work environment by complying with OHS regulations, wearing personal protective equipment, and reporting incidents and near misses to the supervisor.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • Experience in construction, mining, or operating heavy machinery;
  • Surface Miner or training of Rock Truck Driving certification;
  • Basic welding and fitting skills;
  • A minimum Ontario high school diploma (OSSD) or equivalent;
  • Good written and oral communication skills;
  • Dependability and ability to follow instructions and respond to supervisor direction.

**Working Conditions and Physical Demands**

The physical demands of this role include working outdoors in varied temperatures and weather conditions, working indoors in hot, noisy, dusty environments, and working rotating shifts, overtime, and weekends when required. You must also be able to effortlessly move through all areas of the plant and perform duties that require physical abilities.
