Project Technologist - Building Science

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Technologist to join our Building Science and Sustainability team in Richmond, BC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting investigations and assessments to determine the condition of various building elements and writing technical reports of findings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct investigations and assessments to determine the condition of various building elements
  • Write technical reports of findings, summarizing, collating, and interpreting the results of field data
  • Work with the BSS team on services and strategies such as Property Condition Assessments, Building Investigations, Reserve Fund Studies, and Technical Report Writing
  • Liaise with clients and contractors to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Prepare proposals and business development materials to attract new clients

Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Building Science or Architectural Technology or equivalent experience
  • Sound construction knowledge and understanding of building systems
  • Good communication skills and ability to communicate technical information effectively
  • Experience conducting Baseline Property Condition Assessments in accordance with the ASTM Standard E would be an asset
  • Commercial Building Inspector experience would be an asset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to safely transport and carry 20-foot extension or folding ladder, hand tools, and PPE
  • Valid driver's license, insurance, and personal vehicle required (work-related travel expenses will be compensated)
  • Availability to travel
