We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Duty Equipment Technician to join our team at Mukima Logistics Ltd. in Canada. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy equipment repair and maintenance, with a focus on troubleshooting and inspection.
This is a permanent opportunity with a salary of approximately $85,000 per year, based on industry standards for this role in Canada.
The successful candidate will work 40 hours per week, be fluent in English, and possess a Registered Apprenticeship certificate or equivalent experience. They will also require 5 years or more of experience in the field, or equivalent experience.
Work Site EnvironmentThe work site environment will be non-smoking and noisy, requiring attention to detail and manual dexterity. The technician will need to stand for extended periods and handle heavy loads up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing faults and malfunctions using computerized testing equipment, ordering parts, and maintaining inventory. They will also perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubricating, and repairing equipment.
Certifications and LicensesA valid Driver's License (Class 1 or A) and Truck and Coach Service Licence (310T) are required. Additionally, the technician should hold a Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
The successful candidate will work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication skills. They will be expected to maintain accurate records and reports, and adhere to all health and safety regulations.
Salary and BenefitsThe salary for this position is approximately $85,000 per year, paid bi-weekly. Benefits include a comprehensive health care plan and paid time off for volunteering or personal days.
