We are seeking a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team in Edmonton. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality financial services to our clients.
Job Summary: We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Staff Accountant who can manage various accounting tasks, including financial documentation, audit engagements, tax preparation, bookkeeping, and client relations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Analysis: Prepare and manage review and compilation working paper files, including full financial statements.
- Audit Support: Lead and support external audit processes, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Tax Services: Handle personal and corporate income tax filings using up-to-date tax preparation software.
- Bookkeeping: Perform essential bookkeeping duties to maintain comprehensive financial records.
- Client Relations: Develop and nurture long-term relationships with diverse clientele, providing tailored accounting solutions and advice.
- Operational Support: Assist with administrative tasks and contribute to team projects as needed.
Requirements:
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English.
- 1-5 years of experience in public accounting practice.
- Enrolled in or holding a professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) is an asset.
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in accounting.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Taxprep, QuickBooks, Sage 50, Caseware, and other relevant accounting software.
Compensation and Benefits: $55,000 to $75,000 per year, commensurate with experience, comprehensive disability and life insurance packages, tuition reimbursement for further education and certifications, and a supportive work environment.
