We are seeking a skilled Marble Setter to join our team at Emperor Stone Imports and Trades Ltd.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, measuring, and marking surfaces to be covered with marble, as well as mixing, applying, and spreading mortar, cement, mastic, glue, or other adhesives using hand trowels.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare surfaces to be covered with marble, ensuring they are clean, dry, and free of debris.
- Mix and apply mortar, cement, mastic, glue, or other adhesives to the prepared surfaces.
- Spread the adhesive evenly using hand trowels, ensuring a smooth and even finish.
- Set tiles in place and apply pressure to affix them to the base.
- Align and straighten tiles to ensure a precise fit.
- Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools.
- Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout.
- Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles.
- Supervise other workers to ensure the job is completed efficiently and to a high standard.
- 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in the trade.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Physical stamina to lift and move heavy materials.
- Attention to detail and ability to work accurately.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
