Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Tile Setter to join our team at JY Shinwoo Construction Ltd.

About the Role

This is a permanent position working 30-40 hours per week with a competitive salary of £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in tile setting, with a focus on commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, be physically fit, and able to work at heights.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered
  • Mix, apply, and spread mortar, cement, mastic, glue, or other adhesives using a hand trowel
  • Set tiles in place and apply pressure to affix them to the base
  • Align and straighten tiles
  • Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools
  • Lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural, and floor designs
  • Cut, surface, polish, and install marble and granite
  • Mix, lay, and polish terra surfaces
  • Install tile strips
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in tile setting
  • Ability to distinguish between colours
  • Attention to detail
  • Physically demanding role requiring handling heavy loads and bending, crouching, kneeling
