Project Director Job Description

Mpa Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Project Director to lead ambitious initiatives in Nova Scotia. As a key member of the Building and Operations team, you will drive project goals, execution, and workforce management.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and maintain strong relationships with team members, trade partners, consultants, and clients to achieve project goals and vision.
  2. Support project management teams to develop and drive the construction schedule, ensuring completion dates and milestones are met and/or exceeded.
  3. Apply problem-solving skills to recommend innovative methods that increase effectiveness and efficiency, ensuring project excellence and productivity.
  4. Ensure compliance with our Quality Program through proactive approach.
  5. Utilize experience in trade partner selection and coordination of their activities.
  6. Apply financial management experience to plan, manage, and respect project budgets, costs, and associated purchasing.
  7. Provide coaching and guidance to project team members, promoting career advancement.
  8. Act as subject matter expert in risk management, minimizing project risk.
  9. Compile and complete companywide project reports for executive teams and client groups.
  10. Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety, and Environmental Protection on the project.
Requirements
  1. 8-10+ years of experience working on large-scale construction projects.
  2. University degree/diploma in Engineering or related field.
  3. Strong business acumen and knowledge of project management methodologies, financial management, Canadian building codes, and associated legislations.
  4. Experience in the construction industry with strong knowledge of project methodologies, financial management, and building codes.
  5. Proven track record of team leadership and coaching/mentoring skills.
  6. Ability to effectively influence others and resolve client, project, and technical issues.
  7. Previous experience with scheduling software.
Additional Assets
  1. Experience working on large-scale government projects.
  2. Fluency in both official languages (English and French).
