Job Description

As a family law attorney, you will be responsible for managing a caseload, drafting correspondence, and preparing pleadings and trial briefs. You will also engage in telephone and in-person contact with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts, ensuring seamless communication and effective case management.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing assigned caseload with attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Drafting and responding to correspondence with excellent written communication skills
  • Preparing pleadings, financial disclosures, mediation, and trial briefs with strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Engaging in telephone and in-person contact with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts with empathy and level-headed demeanor
  • Preparing witness questions for evidentiary hearings, depositions, and trials with excellent research and analytical skills
  • Tracking billable time with attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Assisting supervising lawyers in all phases of the practice with a collaborative and proactive attitude
Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must be admitted to the Ontario Bar and have a minimum of 2 years of experience practicing family law. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills, are essential. Attention to detail and organizational skills are also critical to success in this role.
