Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Service Writer to join our team at PACCAR. As a Service Writer, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring that our customers receive the best possible experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Interaction: Receive customers with eagerness, by phone or in-person, and provide them with a positive and professional experience.
  • Repair Order Management: Open the repair orders by indicating the information related to the vehicle to be repaired, and coordinate and book appointments according to workshop availability.
  • Estimation and Communication: Accurately record the client's requests on the Worksheet, one operation for each request, and estimate the repair costs of the vehicle by examining the components under the truck, inside the hood or elsewhere.
  • Payment and Warranty: Notify the customer whether repairs fall into manufacturer's warranty or not, and establish the method of repair payment with the customer.
  • Customer Communication: Keep the customer informed of the status of parts necessary for repair, and promote preventive maintenance programs, specials or any other appropriate products and services for the customer's vehicle.
  • Repair Order Closure: Close repair orders once they have been verified by the workshop foreman, and assign the costs to the customer, the warranty or a request for a good agreement policy.
Requirements:
  • Language Skills: French and English (spoken, read and written – basic level, in order to serve clients in English as needed)
  • Sales Orientation: Oriented towards the sale of products and services
  • Technical Knowledge: Good knowledge of heavy equipment mechanics
  • Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate professionally with customers
  • Emotional Intelligence: The ability to cope with the emotional reactions of the clientele
  • Teamwork: Good team-working skills
  • Industry Expertise: Extensive experience in interpreting warranties specific to the trucking industry
