KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As an Intermediate Environmental Project Manager, you will join our Grande Prairie, Alberta office as part of our Assessment, Remediation, Reclamation and Monitoring (ARRM) team. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Actively participating in and driving Matrix's strong safety culture
  2. Supporting simple to moderately complex ARRM projects
  3. Ensuring internal communication and collaboration to facilitate delivery of high-quality products to meet our clients' unique project needs
  4. Managing project scopes, schedules, and budgets
  5. Coordinating with internal project teams across disciplines, including engineers, hydrogeologists, soil scientists, and ecologists
  6. Communicating with clients and project-related stakeholders
  7. Managing client communications and expectations
  8. Preparing technical correspondence, proposals, work plans, and cost estimates
  9. Functioning effectively within and contributing to the success of a collaborative team
  10. Proactively engaging and participating in development opportunities and your career growth
  11. Mentoring and developing junior staff members

REQUIREMENTS

We are looking for a candidate with:

  1. A technical diploma or degree in environmental science, project management, or a related field
  2. A minimum of two (2) years' previous project management experience
  3. Project management experience in ARRM projects in Western Canada would be considered an asset
  4. Experience with Workday software would be an enormous asset
  5. Experience managing client relationships
  6. Eligibility for registration in or a member in good standing of a professional organization would be considered an asset
  7. Familiarity with preparing work plans, cost estimates, and scopes of work
  8. Self-motivated and possess strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  9. Detail-oriented, possess good organizational skills, and have the ability to prioritize
  10. Willingness to provide direction and mentorship to more junior professionals
  11. A valid and clean class 5 driver's license with no restrictions
