About the Role

We're seeking a highly motivated and experienced project manager to join our Grande Prairie, Alberta office. As an Intermediate Environmental Project Manager, you'll be responsible for:

  • Actively participating in and driving Matrix's strong safety culture
  • Supporting simple to moderately complex ARRM projects
  • Ensuring internal communication and collaboration to deliver high-quality products to meet client needs
  • Managing project scopes, schedules, and budgets
  • Coordinating with internal project teams across disciplines
  • Communicating with clients and project stakeholders
  • Managing client communications and expectations
  • Preparing technical correspondence, proposals, work plans, and cost estimates
  • Functioning effectively within and contributing to the success of a collaborative team
  • Proactively engaging in development opportunities and career growth
  • Mentoring and developing junior staff members

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a candidate with:

  • A technical diploma or degree in environmental science, project management, or a related field
  • A minimum of two years' previous project management experience
  • Project management experience in ARRM projects in Western Canada (an asset)
  • Experience with Workday software (an asset)
  • Experience managing client relationships
  • Eligibility for registration in or a member in good standing of a professional organization (an asset)
  • Familiarity with preparing work plans, cost estimates, and scopes of work
  • Self-motivation and strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Detail-oriented, good organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize
  • Willingness to provide direction and mentorship to more junior professionals
  • A valid and clean Class 5 driver's license with no restrictions
