Job Description Summary:

The Network Systems Analyst will be responsible for ensuring the stability and security of our campus network infrastructure. This includes analyzing and troubleshooting network issues, implementing and maintaining network security measures, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement network upgrades.

Organizational Status:

The Network Systems Analyst will be a member of the IT department at The University of British Columbia. The IT department is responsible for providing technical support and services to the university community.

Work Performed:

The Network Systems Analyst will perform the following tasks:

- Analyze and troubleshoot network issues to ensure optimal performance
- Implement and maintain network security measures to protect against threats
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement network upgrades
- Provide technical support and training to end-users

Supervision Received:

The Network Systems Analyst will work under the administrative and technical direction of the IT Manager.

Supervision Given:

The Network Systems Analyst may provide technical support and training to end-users.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 3+ years of experience in network administration and security
- Strong knowledge of routing and switching protocols
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Collaboration:

The Network Systems Analyst will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to design and implement network upgrades.

The Network Systems Analyst will communicate effectively with end-users and technical teams to ensure that network issues are resolved in a timely manner.
