**Job Summary**
As a Maintenance Assistant at Aspira Heatherwood Retirement Living, you will play a critical role in ensuring the comfort and well-being of our residents. This is a part-time position that requires weekend availability.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Execute general repair and maintenance work, including painting, plastering, basic plumbing, woodworking, and electrical work.
- Clean and maintain floors, hallways, stairways, and common areas.
- Empty garbage and recycling receptacles and ensure recycling materials are stored properly.
- Maintain building exterior, grounds, and parking lots.
- Remove snow and apply salt to ensure resident, visitor, and team member safety.
- Mow and water grass, tend to flower gardens, and apply fertilizer as needed.
- Complete required forms and documents, and write reports as necessary.
**Requirements**
- Certification, training, and work experience in building repairs, painting and finishes, floor care, safety procedures, property maintenance, plumbing, heating, and air conditioning.
- 1-2 years' experience in a similar position.
- Proven customer service skills and excellent command of verbal and written English language.
- Sound knowledge of the operation and maintenance of equipment used in the residence.
- Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team.
- Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check (for Ontario applicants) or a Criminal Records Check (for British Columbia applicants).
