Winter Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Winter Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Colas, a leading provider of construction and maintenance services for transportation infrastructure. As a Winter Maintenance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our highways during the winter season.
Key Responsibilities- Perform road maintenance activities on provincial highways, including snow and ice control, and respond to emergency situations such as spills and accidents during inclement weather.
- Assist in implementing an emergency plan and provide traffic control at accident scenes as per the contract requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including fuel reports, safety reports, and hours of service, and perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
- Make snow and ice control decisions during winter and initiate equipment and operator call-outs, inspect patrols, and create deficient lists for the Patrol Supervisor.
- Respond to public complaints and operate a variety of equipment, including snowplows and salt spreaders.
- G license and clean driving abstract.
- Experience in snow and ice control, along with knowledge of OTM Book 7.
- Knowledge of highway maintenance and willingness to work in extreme weather conditions.
- Ability to work assigned shifts, and extended hours (evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays) as winter events require.
- Ability to perform manual labor and lift up to 50 lbs and stand for periods of time.
- DZ license, and clean driving abstract.
