Your Responsibilities:
The Senior Manager of Product Innovation is instrumental in shaping product strategy and ensuring its successful implementation. This role encompasses conducting research on new products, driving innovation, and overseeing design execution in alignment with the business objectives and market demands. The manager will coordinate with consultants and suppliers while engaging with both internal and external stakeholders to enhance customer value and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Leading by example, this position promotes Minto's core values of achievement, bravery, collaboration, and creativity.
Key Duties Include:
- Conducting research on new products and materials, driving innovation, and implementing design strategies for various residential projects in accordance with business objectives and market insights;
- Overseeing the design development process for new initiatives, including building types, community visioning, product assortment, and design from concept through to market launch;
- Assisting in the creation of contract documents (drawings and specifications) to ensure design continuity throughout the tender, construction, and warranty phases;
- Collaborating with colleagues to deliver a cohesive and optimized value proposition for Minto customers on assigned projects;
- Managing project budgets and schedules, providing regular updates;
- Overseeing the RFP and contract processes for external consultants, including monthly reporting;
- Reviewing documents to ensure proper coordination between design drawings, marketing materials, and contract documentation;
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to conduct document reviews and site visits, aiming for continuous enhancement of product features and optimization of specifications to minimize construction complexity and costs;
- Supporting acquisition efforts, including master planning, feasibility studies, and budget/schedule projections;
- Guiding consultants through procurement and production processes for assigned projects;
- Encouraging collaboration and support within the department and across functional teams;
- Building and maintaining relationships with peers and trades;
- Performing additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- College Diploma or University Degree in Architecture
- A minimum of five (5+) years of relevant experience in project management and design development for residential and/or mixed-use projects
- Experience in leading a team
- Familiarity with the Alberta Building Code and related regulations
- Understanding of residential low-rise, mid-rise, high-rise, or mixed-use construction systems and methodologies
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Project knowledge is a plus)
