Landscape Labourer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Landscape Labourer to join our team at J & A Landscaping. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for assisting with landscape constructions, tying and securing plants, and performing various tasks related to lawn care and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with landscape constructions, including laying sod or seed, planting bulbs, flowers, shrubs, and trees.
  • Tie and secure plants, ensuring they are properly anchored and secure.
  • Weed, prune, and trim trees and plants to maintain a neat and tidy appearance.
  • Cut grass and rake and collect refuse to keep the work area clean.
  • Remove litter and garbage, and cart and spread topsoil and other materials as needed.
  • Repair and maintain equipment, and write daily basic progress reports.
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens, and operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment.
  • Perform tree removal tasks, and assist with gardening and snow removal.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a related field is an asset, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
  • Availability for shift or on-call work is required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment, with varying weather conditions.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labour tasks.
