About the Role

Takeda is seeking a seasoned professional to lead its Ethics and Compliance (E&C) Global team. As the Head of E&C, you will be responsible for driving a company-wide culture of ethics and compliance, ensuring that all employees are empowered and accountable for making ethical decisions that serve patients, people, and the planet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the E&C team in implementing the Takeda E&C strategy, including catalyzing a values-based culture and shaping the organizational mindset around Patient-Trust-Reputation-Business (PTRB).
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive compliance program, including policy implementation, training, and communications.
  • Manage risk by providing guidance and advice, approving high-risk activities, conducting compliance risk assessments, and executing monitoring.
  • Represent Takeda externally by participating in relevant industry association meetings and initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, advanced degree preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry, with commercial, access, or medical experience preferred.
  • At least 4 years of experience in Ethics and Compliance program implementation and execution.
  • Leadership experience, including membership in a leadership team.
  • Risk management experience, including leading cross-functional teams to identify, assess, and define mitigations.
  • People management and talent development experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with key laws, regulations, and industry standards, including Bribery and Corruption, Privacy, Sanctions, Anti-trust, Promotional compliance, Human Rights, and Third-Party Risk Management.
  • Familiarity with the IMC and Health Canada Codes.
  • Understanding of key culture concepts, including values-based decision making, psychological safety, and speak up.
  • Understanding of the core elements of an effective compliance program and the latest regulatory and enforcement agency guidance.
  • Understanding of principles of risk management, including identification, assessment, and mitigation.
