Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Director, Counterparty Credit Risk Analytics to join our Group Risk Management team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the conceptual design, development, and ongoing maintenance of mathematical models used for the measurement and capitalization of counterparty credit risk of RBC's derivative portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with model users to understand their business requirements and develop technical implementation details.
  • Conduct research and review regulatory requirements to evaluate best practices for modeling and make recommendations on model methodologies.
  • Develop and implement mathematical models, including assumptions and limitations, and document results in whitepapers and annual assessments.
  • Investigate and remediate modeling issues identified through ongoing monitoring or by internal validation.
  • Re-calibrate models on a regular basis and re-assess and test models against alternative models.

Requirements

  • Broad knowledge of traded products across various asset classes and knowledge of regulatory & internal risk management requirements for counterparty credit risk.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent programming skills (e.g., Python, MatLab) and data management and analysis skills (SQL and Excel required).
  • Ability to work collaboratively to achieve team goals and adapt to changing circumstances in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, especially in the explanation of complex modeling concepts to senior management and regulators.
