Hardware Development Role in Ottawa

This exciting opportunity is for a hardware development role in the Hardware development team in Ottawa. The team works dynamically and collaboratively with teams locally and globally, engaged in all aspects of hardware development for Ericsson's next generation of radios to meet customer and business needs worldwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with radio hardware design from architecture through to volume production
  • Design, test, introduce into the factory and support hardware
  • Solve design problems and provide product solutions and trade-offs
  • Drive continuous improvements of design, processes, and product quality
  • Ensure design is robust and reliable, accounting for process variations
  • Encourage/mentor design quality and best design practices/methods
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers, software developers, and other cross-functional teams to ensure design integrates seamlessly with the overall product and meets system-level requirements
  • Prepare lab environment, including equipment and software components
  • Implement test and validation methods for efficient design test coverage
  • Perform troubleshooting, including support on debugging field return units
Requirements
  • Experience in hardware design, simulations, implementation, and verification
  • Experience with board level power and grounding layout strategies and implementation for multilayer mixed digital/analog/RF designs
  • Good understanding of board design and manufacturing challenges
  • Excellent English communications skills
  • Previous exposure to radio transceiver digital design and/or test
  • Experience in analog (RF) hardware design, implementation, and verification
  • Previous experience in designing products for volume production
  • Previous exposure to working with high-speed, high-performance ADC and DAC
  • Experience with EMC/timing analysis/constraints
  • Experience in writing automated test software, e.g., C, Python, MATLAB
