Job Summary

The Halton District School Board is seeking experienced and qualified candidates for the Elementary Principal Pool. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of our students and contributing to the growth and development of our schools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage elementary schools, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment for students and staff.
  • Develop and implement educational programs that meet the diverse needs of students, aligning with the Ontario curriculum and the Halton District School Board's Multi-Year Plan.
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to promote student achievement and well-being.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and personnel to optimize school performance and efficiency.
  • Stay up-to-date with educational trends, research, and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve teaching and learning.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including students, parents, staff, and the broader community.
Requirements
  • Hold Principal Qualifications Part I and II in accordance with Ministry regulation.
  • Be in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers.
  • Have successful experience as a Vice Principal, demonstrating proven leadership effectiveness in the school community.
  • Be in good standing with respect to conduct.
  • Have demonstrated experience with Special Education policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate evidence of core capacities identified in the Ontario Leadership Framework.
