Key Responsibilities- Deliver High-Quality Patient Care: Provide nursing care in accordance with established policies, physician's orders, and the resident plan of care, within the scope of practice of an RN.
- Utilize Sound Nursing Practice Principles: Ensure the delivery of excellent nursing and personal care in the assigned home area(s), adhering to the highest standards of care.
- Ensure Timely and Accessible Admissions: Conduct comprehensive orientations to the home and services offered, ensuring a smooth transition for residents.
- Manage Resident Transfers and Discharges: Ensure timely and safe transfers and discharges, maintaining the highest level of care and respect for residents.
- Ensure Safekeeping of Medications: Control and safely store medications and narcotics, adhering to established protocols.
- Assess, Plan, Implement, and Evaluate Nursing Care: Meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of residents, providing individualized care and support.
- Education: Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalent.
- Registration: Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses.
- Certifications: Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification, valid First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with residents, families, and healthcare teams.
- Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of the Long Term Care Act, Program Standards for Long Term Care, and other relevant Federal, Provincial, and Municipal Statutes influencing the operation of the Nursing Home and nursing department.
- Clearances: Medical Clearance, Vulnerable Sector Police Check, Adult Abuse Registry Check, and Clear Criminal Record check.
- Additional Requirements: Proof of vaccination, adherence to COVID-19 prevention protocols, and wearing a mask at all times.
