This role involves working with multi-disciplined engineering, design, and project teams to develop design drawings utilizing AutoCAD and other related products.

The ideal candidate will create, edit, and modify AutoCAD drawings based on designs provided by engineers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and reading reinforced concrete and steel drawings as well as mechanical and shop drawings
  • Creating foundation layout plans and concrete foundation detail drawings
  • Assisting with design tasks including calculations, load rating, structural modeling and analyses, detailing, quantity and cost estimates under supervision from a senior engineer

The successful candidate will understand and meet project schedule and quality requirements with accuracy and efficiency.

They will actively assist in delivering complete projects, which may involve phone or email correspondence, attending meetings, and other project documents required for project completion.

Absolute knowledge of interdepartmental support (Civil, Electrical, Substation, T&D, etc.) is essential.

The minimum educational requirement is a College Diploma (in Civil Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology or Mechanical Engineering Technology) or Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering.

A strong background in AutoCAD design experience is crucial, preferably 5 or more years.

The ideal candidate will have high proficient use of Autodesk AutoCAD, ability to read and interpret drawings, construction, and civil plans.

Experience with structural steel, reinforced concrete or steel plate, understanding of engineering principles and assembly, fabrication, and construction workflows, knowledge of project management software and computer applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint are also necessary.

An estimated salary for this position is around $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and location.
