Job Summary:
The Medical Device Reprocessing Technician is responsible for preparing supplies, instruments and equipment for surgical procedures. The successful candidate will have six months of related experience and a Grade 12 education. The position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to interact well with others.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing case carts for surgical procedures
- Processing instruments, scopes and equipment
- Assembling and restocking supplies
- Maintaining records
Requirements:
- Ability to work in a Windows operating environment
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- Ability to lift and move equipment
- Ability to interact well with others
- Ability to retain information which is of a confidential nature
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, lift, twist and reach constantly throughout the entire shift
- Ability to lift and carry equipment/trays weighing up to approximately 40 lbs./18 kgs
Security Clearance: A current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check is required.
