Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Warehouse Worker at The Salvation Army. In this role, you will play a critical part in the operations of collecting and processing donations, ensuring that our resources are used effectively and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Unload, sort, and load donated items in a timely and organized manner.
  • Manage donor and donation records, tracking statistics and reporting as needed.
  • Replenish inventory levels based on supervisor's directions, ensuring that stock is always up-to-date.
  • Assist with emergency and disaster services, collecting and processing goods as assigned.
  • Contribute to building safety by performing light cleaning tasks, reporting maintenance needs to supervisors, and assisting with general cleanup and snow removal.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to phone calls, receiving donations, and handling public inquiries within Salvation Army policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications and Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant life experience considered.
  • Ability to work in Canada today.
Required Skills and Knowledge
  • Excellent customer service ethics, including the ability to deal with the public in a friendly manner.
  • Proven ability to work in a team setting and take personal initiatives.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly, and follow universal precautions.
  • Adaptability to change and interruptions to a normal work routine, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information.
Preferred Skills and Capabilities
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.
