Math and Science Tutor Wanted

We are seeking a part-time math and science tutor to join our team at Oxford Learning Centres, Inc. in Mississauga, ON.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach math and science to high school students in grades 9-12
  • Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
  • Fill in post-lesson notes and complete daily student communication updates
  • Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant field
  • Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
  • Teaching certification an asset
  • Good knowledge of the current Grades 9-12 math curriculum, particularly senior math and including, but not limited to, advanced functions, algebra, trigonometry and calculus, and vectors, physics, chemistry, and biology
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Some experience teaching/tutoring math and science at a Grade 9 to 12 (or equivalent) level
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills
  • Strong math skills and ability to guide students' understanding
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
