Job Overview

AAA Canada seeks a seasoned Lead Electrical Bus Technician to lead our team of skilled technicians in providing top-notch technical support for electric vehicle deployments, ensuring seamless service activities, and delivering exceptional customer satisfaction.

About the Role

This critical position requires an individual with extensive hands-on experience in the automotive industry, specifically in electrical bus technology. The successful candidate will oversee service activities, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and ensure client satisfaction through effective communication and problem-solving skills.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support electric vehicle deployments by leading teams of technicians in installation, maintenance, and repair tasks.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by resolving technical issues efficiently and effectively, both in and out of warranty periods.
  • Evaluate failure data and develop countermeasures to minimize repeat failures and control warranty costs.
  • Specialize in troubleshooting technical problems customers encounter with their products or services, utilizing advanced analytical skills and knowledge of electrical systems.
  • Oversee activities of Service Technicians, including troubleshooting, parts ordering, and part replacement, to ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Analyze Mean Distance Between Failure (MDBF) data and issue reliability reports for customers, highlighting areas for improvement.
  • Support fleet-wide campaign activities and collaborate with internal teams to resolve customer issues efficiently.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion, adhering to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Travel regularly to customer sites, company garages, and supplier facilities to work closely with local teams and provide expert technical guidance.

Key Qualifications:

  • College diploma in Avionics Technician or related field.
  • No less than 5 years of hands-on experience in the automotive industry, preferably in electrical bus technology.
  • Possession of a bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electrical Technology, Mechanical, or Electromechanical Engineering is highly desirable.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, with customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent customer focus, and a positive attitude are essential requirements.
  • Familiarity with PLC programming and implementation (Siemens TIA Portal and Logo Controller, Beijer) is considered an asset.
  • Independence, resourcefulness, confident decision-making, and strong facilitation and conflict resolution skills are crucial.
  • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, particularly PowerPoint and Excel, is necessary for efficient report generation and data analysis.

Compensation Package:

As a valued member of the AAA Canada team, you can expect a competitive salary range between $95,000 - $125,000 per annum, commensurate with your qualifications and experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including access to ongoing professional development opportunities and a stimulating work environment.
