Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our Biochemistry Laboratory team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining laboratory equipment, preparing reports, and participating in educational and quality improvement programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in test results
- Prepare written and electronic reports to document procedures and test results
- Participate in teaching, educational, safety, and quality improvement programs to enhance skills and knowledge
- Observe and understand hospital and departmental policies and procedures
Requirements
- Completion of a recognized Medical Laboratory Technologist program
- Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists (CMLTO)
- One year of recent laboratory experience in a large hospital Biochemistry Laboratory
- Ability to develop skills and knowledge in all areas of the laboratory
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures, instruments, equipment, and special techniques
- Excellent problem recognition and problem-solving skills
- Effective time management and communication skills
- Computer literacy and ability to work effectively as a team member
