Job Title: Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Operations, Controllership

Job Summary:

The Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role in the CRTC and Financial Operations team, responsible for reviewing and maintaining financial policies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager and Executive Director to plan and coordinate the review and update of financial policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Prepare analysis and recommendations for policy updates, including comparisons with Treasury Board, other crown corporations, or best practices.
  • Develop and deliver training and tools to support business units in implementing new policies and procedures.
  • Monitor adherence to policies, procedures, and guidelines, and provide counsel, advice, and guidance to managers.
  • Conduct scheduled post-audits on financial transactions to ensure consistency in policy adherence.
  • Prepare proactive disclosure reports and support the Senior Manager with corporate finance deliverables, including CRTC reporting and analysis.

Requirements:

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) or working toward it.
  • Proficiency in English and French.
  • Three to five years of experience in policy, internal controls over financial reporting, and audit.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting and accounting, IFRS guidelines, financial legislation, financial operations, corporate financial policies, and internal controls.
  • Technical writing capacity and strong communication skills.
