Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Heating and Cooling Technician Assistant to join our team at Heating and Cooling Doctor Ltd. As a key member of our support team, you will assist our experienced technicians in maintaining and repairing our customers' heating and cooling systems.

Work Setting

Our team works in various locations, including residential and commercial settings. You will be responsible for moving tools and equipment, assisting tradespersons and other workers as directed, and cleaning machines and work areas.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Move tools, equipment, and other materials as needed.
  • Help tradespersons, apprentices, and other workers with their tasks and responsibilities.
  • Clean machines and immediate work areas to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

This is a physically demanding role that requires manual dexterity, a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, as well as bending, crouching, and kneeling. You will also be required to handle heavy loads, up to 23 kg (50 lbs), while working on the job.

This is an on-the-road job that requires you to work in various locations. You will have the opportunity to participate in a government or community program that supports newcomers and refugees, and you will be required to support social and labour market integration of newcomers and refugees.

Support for Newcomers and Refugees

We participate in a program that supports newcomers and refugees, including providing housing, transportation, storage, childcare, and winter clothing. We also offer language training, skills training, and mentorship programs to help newcomers and refugees integrate into our community.

Support for Youth

We participate in a program that supports youth employment, including providing on-the-job training and mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for young workers. We also provide awareness training to our employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.

Support for Indigenous People

We participate in a program that supports Indigenous people, including providing mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for Indigenous workers. We also develop and maintain relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations, and provide cultural competency training and awareness training to our employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
