Join Our Team as a Senior Accountant

At TSX Inc., we're seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team. As a key contributor to our accounting and financial reporting cycle, you'll be responsible for performing end-of-period close activities, facilitating process efficiencies, and upholding strong internal control practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and post month-, quarter-, and year-end close process journal entries, accruals, account analysis, and reconciliations for subsidiaries.
  • Prepare supporting documentation, ensuring completeness, mathematical accuracy, and adherence to accounting policies.
  • Assist with trial balance reviews, preparing variance analyses, and commentary.
  • Recommend, document, implement, and maintain improvements to the close cycles and related processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Own the accounting processes within Workday, implementing customization decisions and content releases.
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand and support business processes, upholding best accounting and internal control practices.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, including preparing working papers to respond to audit requests.
  • Support ad-hoc projects and initiatives, including M&A, integrations, reorganizations, and automation opportunities.
  • Prepare financial ratio calculations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare GST/HST returns.
Requirements:
  • University undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting.
  • Canadian CPA designation (or equivalent) or close to completion.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in accounting.
  • Intellectually curious and motivated.
  • Collaborative and works cross-functionally.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
  • Highly organized, with time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with general ledger or accounting systems such as Workday, Oracle, or SAP.
  • Solid understanding of IFRS Accounting Standards, including ability to apply accounting principles to new scenarios/transactions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
