Care Expert Educator for Home Living

A career opportunity has arisen at Alberta Health Services to join the Home Living team as a Care Expert Educator. This is an exciting role that involves promoting excellence in client care, staff development and education.
About the RoleAs a Care Expert Educator, you will be responsible for enhancing client care outcomes and staff professional development through expert clinical practice, consultation, research and education. Your primary goal will be to assess, create, facilitate, coordinate and evaluate the implementation of education to promote clinical competence.
You will function as a leader, innovator and change agent in the pursuit of excellent client care. You will support new staff and promote best practice related to case management, participate in Client Reviews/SMC reviews and encourage a person-centered focus and outcomes.
In this role, you will also support the provincial rollout of the McMaster education in Case Management, RAI reviews and one-on-one coaching and mentorship. Additionally, you will assist with change management and system transformation initiatives, supporting clinical service delivery including the integration of Connect Care into case management.
You will maintain competence in advanced clinical practice relevant to Home Living and act as a consultant to staff/management regarding clinical issues. Influencing and supporting a culture of professional growth is also a key aspect of this role.
About YouWe are looking for an experienced healthcare professional who can develop and deliver educational activities to support staff learning based on a patient-centered care model. As a successful candidate, you will have a Baccalaureate Degree in a health discipline, education, and/or leadership/administration, along with a minimum of 5 years of recent Home Living experience.
You will possess strong collaborative and interpersonal skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. Coaching others and promoting teamwork and partnerships to attain optimal client outcomes is essential for this role.
Additionally, you will have the ability to evaluate clinical performance, assess staff clinical needs and plan appropriate education strategies. A recognized clinical expertise in Home Living Program areas is highly desirable, along with creativity, flexibility and initiative.
Requirements- Baccalaureate Degree in a health discipline, education, and/or leadership/administration
- Minimum of 5 years of recent Home Living experience
- Ability to evaluate clinical performance, assess staff clinical needs and plan appropriate education strategies
- Demonstrated leadership and facilitation skills
- Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
The estimated salary for this position is $90,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
