Purchasing Team Leader Job Description

Job Summary:

Tolko Industries Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Team Leader to join our High Prairie OSB division. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for leading the procurement of goods and services to support our major project and ongoing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the procurement process, analyzing costs, selecting suppliers, negotiating contracts, and analyzing costs for the mill.
  • Work with the team to ensure timely and accurate procurement of parts, materials, and services.
  • Oversee material and operating supplies inventory, ensuring accurate tracking and management.
  • Support the team in finding creative solutions to meet business needs, leveraging your experience and expertise.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring excellent customer service and support.

Requirements:

  • APICS, SCMP, CSCP, CPIM, or equivalent designation.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of safety protocols and inventory management.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a can-do attitude and willingness to learn.
