Reclamation and Revegetation Ecologist

We are seeking a skilled Reclamation and Revegetation Ecologist to join our team in Alberta. As a key member of our Closure/Reclamation practice, you will have the opportunity to utilize your expertise in reclamation and revegetation to tackle a diverse range of projects across various industries in Western Canada.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct field programs and evaluations to ensure quality assurance and quality control standards are met.
- Participate in and/or lead field assessments, including pre-reclamation surveys, reclamation certificate assessments, and reclamation monitoring programs.
- Collaborate with senior technical staff and project managers to develop technical reports, including reclamation and revegetation plans.
- Support mine closure and reclamation projects, applying your practical and inquisitive mind to drive results.
- Work independently and as part of a supportive team environment.
- Travel throughout Western Canada, with opportunities for office-based tasks.
- Promote a safety-first culture and adhere to client HSE policies.
- University degree in environmental or natural sciences, with a focus on conservation, reclamation, soil science, and/or vegetation ecology.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in reclamation assessments, revegetation planning, and environmental monitoring.
- Experience with soil classification and description, plant identification, and research design and implementation.
- Knowledge of environmental and mining regulations, as well as regional reclamation guidelines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational abilities, and attention to detail.
- Valid drivers license and clean Driver's Abstract.
- Professional status or eligibility for professional status with AIA, ASPB, and/or BCIA.
