Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) role at Njoyn embodies clinical excellence, adhering to the practice standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and Southlake Regional Health Centre's policies and procedures. As a vital member of the healthcare team, the RN collaborates to provide direct patient care based on the three-factor framework outlined by the CNO. This involves considering the client, nurse, and environment in decision-making related to care-provider assignment and consultation among care providers.

All nurses at Njoyn are committed to lifelong learning, ensuring they stay up-to-date with the latest knowledge and best practices in the field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert mentorship and support to primary clinicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to enhance palliative care knowledge and capacity within the community.
  • Participate in the provision of a 24/7 on-call consultation service with an appropriate level of physician backup support as a member of HPC Teams.
  • Lead education courses on hospice palliative care for healthcare professionals across the Ontario Health Central Region, promoting accredited education and professional growth.
