Job Title: Intermediate Mechanical Fuels Specialist Technologist/Engineer

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Intermediate Mechanical Fuels Specialist Technologist/Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team in Ottawa, ON.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled professional to work on the design and execution of projects ranging in size and complexity, with a focus on industrial, healthcare, commercial, and educational projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and designing fuels engineering drawings and specifications, preparing technical specifications and documents, and supporting sales, proposal, and project efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and design fuels engineering drawings and specifications on multiple projects
  • Prepare technical specifications and documents for bidding and construction
  • Responsible for the design of building-related mechanical systems across Canada using applicable codes, standards, and reference materials
  • Prepare detailed engineering design calculations
  • Support specific sales, proposal, and project efforts
  • Nurture and maintain strong client relationships in and for the execution of projects
  • Review shop drawings and other contractor submittals for compliance with construction documents
  • Perform field surveys for drawing development, site reviews, and as recorded drawings as required
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent/diploma in an engineering technology program
  • Minimum 4 years of consulting engineering experience in the buildings industry
  • Excellent knowledge of national and provincial building codes and standards
  • Experience in energy modeling and sustainable design is considered an asset
  • Experience working with AutoCAD and REVIT MEP
  • Good organization, coordination, and project management skills necessary to maintain project schedules and budgets
  • Demonstrated technical writing skills; capable of writing reports, proposals, letters, and technical specifications
  • Strong English verbal and writing skills are required
  • French language skills are considered an asset
