Cross Creek Contracting Inc is seeking a skilled Tile Setter to join our team. As a Tile Setter, you will be responsible for preparing, measuring, and marking surfaces to be covered with tile, as well as mixing, applying, and spreading mortar, cement, mastic, glue, or other adhesives using a hand trowel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare surfaces for tile installation, including measuring and marking the area to be covered.
  • Mix and apply adhesives to the surface, using a hand trowel to spread the material evenly.
  • Set tiles in place and apply pressure to affix them to the base.
  • Align and straighten tiles to ensure a professional finish.
  • Prepare tenders and quotations for clients.
  • Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools.
  • Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout.
  • Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles.
  • Build underbeds and install anchor bolts, wires, and brackets.
  • Estimate costs and materials for tile installation projects.
Requirements:
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in tile setting or a related field.
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Ability to work in a dusty environment.
  • Commercial and residential tile setting experience.
  • Physical stamina to perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.
  • Reliability and client focus.
Work Conditions:

This is a permanent position, working 30 hours per week. The work language is English.
