Job Title: GIS Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Analyst to join our team at Rocky View Schools. As a GIS Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting data-driven decision making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain geographic data and reporting products to support planning, transportation, maintenance, and other departments.
  • Create maps, tables, charts, and other visualizations to communicate results and support public engagement and student accommodation sessions.
  • Produce division-wide maps, including large-format maps, division centre maps, and transportation maps.
  • Geo-code students for student transportation and planning purposes.
  • Maintain and update school designated area boundaries for the division.
  • Update maps to match with municipal development.
  • Develop and maintain time-series data for students' residence and enrolment, as well as school status, programming, capacity, and utilization.
  • Develop and maintain web maps and web-mapping applications for sharing data and insights.
  • Obtain necessary data and provide maps and data analysis to address project requirements.
  • Support preparation of short and long-term division plans.
  • Develop and maintain tools to streamline data management, manipulation, and analysis.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in GIS or a related field.
  • 5 or more years' experience in a GIS Analyst position or a similar role.
  • Previous experience analyzing statistical information and public engagement techniques.
  • Previous experience within a school division or a municipality is considered an asset.
