Job Opportunity: Intervenor for Students with Deafblindness

The York Region District School Board is seeking a qualified Intervenor for Students with Deafblindness to support students with deafblindness in their educational journey.

Job Summary

This is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students with deafblindness. As an Intervenor, you will work closely with students, teachers, and other support staff to provide individualized support and accommodations to ensure students have equal access to education.

Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students with deafblindness in the classroom and beyond
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans
  • Assist students with daily living skills, communication, and mobility
  • Support students in accessing educational resources and materials
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working with students with deafblindness or similar disabilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced educational environment
