About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software Designer to join our team at US Tech Solutions. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing communication interface and controls software for our range of cloud connected inverter products and accessories.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design, estimate, implement, and test new features, protocols, and APIs in a Yocto-based embedded Linux box at the heart of our system and related CI systems.
  2. Write automated unit and integration tests.
  3. Triage, track down, and stamp out bugs.
  4. Work with a variety of implementation languages, including C, Python, shell scripts, CMake, bitbake recipes, GitHub actions, C++, and Go.
  5. Collaborate with fellow software developers, electrical, mechanical, and systems engineers, testers, and other technical and non-technical innovators and support staff around the world.
Requirements
  1. 8+ years of hands-on experience in embedded software and firmware development.
  2. Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechatronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  3. Demonstrable expertise with the C programming language for embedded systems.
  4. Extensive working knowledge of Linux.
  5. Attention to detail.
  6. Structured approach to troubleshooting and problem solving.
  7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated collaborative teamwork capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. 3+ years of writing production code using Rust programming language.
  2. Experience with PV and Grid Tie Energy Storage system architecture and application.
  3. Knowledge of RTOS constructs including threads, scheduling, synchronization, and memory management.
