Mucci Farms is seeking a highly skilled Senior Buyer to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strategic sourcing documents, acquiring market intelligence, and managing supplier relationships to maximize long-term Total Cost of Ownership and minimize business risk.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Sourcing: Develop and maintain strategic sourcing documents and acquire in-depth subject matter expertise and market intelligence for the category.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Manage, develop, and nurture supplier relationships to maximize long-term Total Cost of Ownership and minimize business risk.
- Procurement and Inventory Control: Ensure timely, accurate entry and confirmation of purchase orders to support assigned duties, expedite Purchase Orders as required to meet stakeholder requirements and timelines, and oversee Direct and Indirect Spend categories.
- Market Analysis and Reporting: Prepare and present reports regarding market conditions and organizational spend to Senior Management.
- Inventory Management: Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory flow, reduce waste, and develop appropriate min/max levels, and ensure storage and inventory control are performed in an efficient manner.
- Communication and Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams and assist the Inventory Control team with maintaining proper inventory levels, and update Purchasing and Inventory Manager on any current or foreseeable inventory issues.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in a Senior Buyer/Intermediate role.
- Negotiation and Communication Skills: Strong ability to negotiate with Suppliers, and excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Leadership and Time Management Skills: Highly energetic and assertive with strong leadership skills, and strong time management skills with an emphasis on meeting deadlines.
- Technical Skills: Advanced MS Office skills (Excel).
- Physical Demands: Must be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods of time, bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs, lift material regularly up to 14 kg / 30 lbs; and occasionally up to 23 kg / 50 lbs, climb stairs, and stand on feet for an extended period of time.
The incumbent will be committed to customer service excellence and leading by example. A positive attitude in the workplace is required as is the ability to adhere to all human resources, operational, and food and health safety policies and procedures.
