About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Analytical Chemist to join our team at ALS in Waterloo, ON, Canada.

The LC-MS Technical Specialist position involves a significant component of research and method development in both the LC-MS extraction and instrumentation departments, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting, and supporting routine testing in the LC-MS department as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Method Development: Develop and optimize extraction and instrumental methods to meet critical deadlines;
  • Instrument Maintenance: Perform routine and non-routine maintenance of instrumentation, including repairs and troubleshooting;
  • Quality Control: Ensure the quality of the analytical data meets ALS standards;
  • Training: Provide competent training to other analysts;
Requirements
  • Education: Completion of MSc degree in chemistry or related field;
  • Experience: Extensive experience in SPE, HPLC, LC-MS, LC-MS/MS method development and validation;
  • Skills: Strong understanding of organic chemistry and related parameters, excellent English communication skills (written and verbal), ability to work independently and part of a team.
