Job Summary

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team in acute and complex medical programs, providing high-quality care to patients with neurological conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and treat patients with neurological conditions, progressing them through their care plan.
  • Collaborate with a physiotherapist, occupational therapy assistant/physiotherapy assistant, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, incorporating cognitive/perceptual assessment and treatment skills.
  • Conduct cognitive assessments and provide cognitive remediation/compensatory strategies to patients.
  • Utilize outcome measures to evaluate patient progress and adjust care plans accordingly.
  • Work independently and collaboratively with team members to achieve patient goals.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Meet the physical demands of the position, including standing, walking, and lifting.
Requirements
  • Registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
  • Member of the Canadian Occupational Therapy Association or Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists (preferred).
  • Experience working with neurological conditions required.
  • Cognitive/perceptual assessment and treatment skills.
  • Knowledge and experience working in acute inpatient settings.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities with proven time management skills.
