The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team in acute and complex medical programs, providing high-quality care to patients with neurological conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and treat patients with neurological conditions, progressing them through their care plan.
- Collaborate with a physiotherapist, occupational therapy assistant/physiotherapy assistant, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, incorporating cognitive/perceptual assessment and treatment skills.
- Conduct cognitive assessments and provide cognitive remediation/compensatory strategies to patients.
- Utilize outcome measures to evaluate patient progress and adjust care plans accordingly.
- Work independently and collaboratively with team members to achieve patient goals.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Meet the physical demands of the position, including standing, walking, and lifting.
- Registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
- Member of the Canadian Occupational Therapy Association or Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists (preferred).
- Experience working with neurological conditions required.
- Cognitive/perceptual assessment and treatment skills.
- Knowledge and experience working in acute inpatient settings.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities with proven time management skills.
