Job Summary:

Martinrea International Inc. is seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our production equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical and electronic equipment to prevent downtime and ensure optimal production levels.
  • Plan, layout, install, and repair complex wiring circuits and distribution systems to applicable codes.
  • Install and maintain complex electrical and electronic components of varied equipment.
  • Responsible for housekeeping, work area, parts, and equipment.
  • Complete routine paperwork as required.
  • Address safety issues and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Diagnose and remedy all electrical troubles and repair and replace all electrical apparatus.
  • Occasionally perform work in other trades.
  • Has required experience to use electrical tools, measuring, and testing equipment.
  • Work from complex wiring drawings, code books, and similar documents.
  • Work independently and with minimum supervision.
  • Has knowledge of and repairs CNC and PLC controls.
  • Ability to write programs on various PLC (OMRON, ALLEN-BRADLEY, SIEMENS).
  • Programming of PLC and other related equipment.
  • Any other related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
  • Able to start, stop, and operate all shop equipment.
  • Has a detailed knowledge of applied electrical practices, techniques, and the theory and operation of electrical and electronic equipment and controls.
  • Work on ladders, lifts, and scaffolds.
  • May be required to work overtime, weekends, or alternate shifts.
  • Provide assistance, guidance, and advice to apprentices as required.
  • Liaise with internal departments for design input, fabrication, and modifications to equipment.
  • Ensure timely completion of repairs, fixtures, etc. as required so production is not interrupted.
  • Work closely with supervisor to ensure plant, machines, and equipment are capable of producing production requirements.
  • Assist in the validation of new/used equipment transferred to plant.
  • Ensure preventative maintenance programs are done based on assigned schedules.
  • Troubleshoot production equipment and record keeping of development and troubleshooting.
  • Follow MCPC when working on production concerns, complete paperwork to close protocols.
  • Follow all lockout/tagout procedures as required.
  • Responsible to maintain good housekeeping on work area at all times.
  • Follow company policies on Health, Safety & Environment and PPE requirements.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement initiatives on all aspects of the job.
  • Work from drawings, verbal instructions, or sketches.
  • Abide by all Company policies including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook.
Work Environment:
  • Plant floor (PPE required).
Physical Demands:
  • Constant communication with employees, support departments, and management.
  • Overtime as required.
  • Physically capable of heavy lifting, not afraid of heights, scissor lift.
Health and Safety:
  • Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Must use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the Company.
