About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Communications Director to join our team at Brightshores. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic communications plans that align with our corporate goals and values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic communications plans to engage with stakeholders, government, and community.
- Lead and produce reactive and crisis management materials to reduce/mitigate risk to the organization.
- Produce communication strategies to align with corporate, mission, vision, and values and further the organization's priorities.
- Develop and sustain positive media relations.
- Coach and mentor team members to develop an engaged and supported team.
- Ensure effective public speaking and presentation skills and experience.
- Foster a positive work environment and adhere to Brightshores 'CARE' Behaviours and 'LEAD' Competencies.
Requirements:
- University Degree in communications/public relations.
- 5-10 years of relevant and progressive experience in a leadership role.
- Experience in developing and implementing strategic communications plans in a complex public organization, preferably in the healthcare industry.
- Working knowledge of Ontario Health structure and model for service delivery, key priorities of the province, and current initiatives.
- Exceptional political acumen and ability to engage effectively with a broad range of stakeholders.
- Expert knowledge in communication platforms, including social and digital.
- Recent satisfactory performance and attendance record.
