About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation Engineer to join our team at The Dennis Group, Inc. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automation and control systems for our clients in the food and beverage industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Implement Automation Systems: Develop and implement automation and control systems using PLCs, software, and hardware to integrate manufacturing systems.
  • Automate Manufacturing Processes: Automate manufacturing processes through the use of instrumentation or controls systems to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Network Infrastructure Design: Design and troubleshoot network infrastructures, including Ethernet, DeviceNet, AS-i, Profibus, etc.
  • PLC Applications Development: Develop new PLC applications, interfaces, or embedded controls to meet client requirements.
  • Facility Setup and Commissioning: Develop and implement setup and commissioning procedures for new facilities or upgrades to existing facilities.
  • Control Panel Design and Procurement: Design, specify, wire, and procure control panel equipment, including safety circuits, I/O, networks, etc.
  • Electrical Equipment Design and Procurement: Design, specify, and procure electrical equipment, including MCCs, panelboards, transformers, etc.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Create design basis documents, scope of work, functional descriptions, and analysis documents for devices.
  • Client Communication: Serve as the primary client technical contact and provide technical support and guidance to clients.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure successful project execution.
Requirements
  • Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: 8-11 years of experience with Allen Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, GE Fanuc, Honeywell Systems.
  • Skills: Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, and database programming skills a plus.
  • Travel: Up to 50% travel required to visit project sites and other offices.
